Children are a blessing

I am told that children are a blessing.  In fact my daughter's name translated is God's precious gift.  It was to remind me that children are a blessing.  I need that reminder when that same blessing is telling me no when I ask her to clean up her own mess or help me to clean up something.  Maybe it isn't no exactly but it sounds like no when all i hear is "hold on mom".   Or "not yet or can't you wait" I don't remember saying that to my mom when I was her age.  In fact that would have never entered my mind to say to my mother.  How did we get this way?  How did we get this far that we will accept this from our kids?  I don't know.  I just know that children are a blessing or so I keep telling myself.
